Feeding and educating our neighbors with
real, local food.
A Single Bite is a non-profit founded by Foster Supply Hospitality addressing food insecurity and the health and wellbeing of our neighbors across Sullivan County. We feed local families and teach young people to choose to care about the food they eat and where it comes from.
Sims Foster and Kirsten Harlow Fosterβ co-founders of Foster Supply Hospitality, created the nonprofit A Single Bite because they share a core belief: in both business and life, community comes first. This organization teaches, feeds, and empowers students as well as their families to care about the food they eat and where it comes from.
The Family Meal Program has become a reliable resource to families in need of support in all corners of the county. Since its inception in 2020, A Single Bite has served over 200,000 scratch-made meals. With its strong network of dedicated volunteers, the Family Meal Program reaches over 900 servings every week.
The organization's Education Program is in every school district in Sullivan County, teaching children the difference between real food and processed food and empowering them to make the right choices. To date, the program has reached over 2,100 7th grade students, using a four-part program to expose students to local foods, producers, and culinary experiences in a format designed to empower them to make thoughtful food choices.
You can help us improve the lives of our neighbors by supporting local food and real food education. Make a donation today! Stay tuned for more updates & visit asinglebite.org for more information.
