From June through mid-October, the Callicoon Walking Tours cover the fascinating history of Callicoon, NY beginning with its native inhabitants the Leni-Lenape, through to the first Dutch settlers in the 1600’s who named the area Kolikoonkill for wild turkey. Learn how J. Greswald bought the town via the Hardenberg Patent in the mid-1700’s, through to the devastating fire of 1888 and the impact of the Erie Railroad, right up to the changes that are still occurring today.
Aside from the historical elements, the Callicoon Walk will feature the town’s stunning architecture, cozy eateries, brewery, boutique hotels and shops, and more! The tour will finish with a complimentary beer tasting at Callicoon Brewery!
